David and Tammi opened up Indianapolis Counseling and Mentoring LLC in the Spring of 2023.

 

Tammi is a Master-level Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Indianapolis Counseling and Mentoring. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Indiana Tech and a Master's in Social Work from Indiana University. Passionate about supporting women and mothers, she helps them discover their strengths and reclaim joy in their lives. Tammi also focuses on couples counseling, drawing on her own experience from over three decades of marriage.

With 20 years in K-12 education, Tammi has served in various roles, including special education instructional assistant, reading specialist, and school social worker. Her dedication was recognized in 2022 when she received the Administrator of the Year award from the Simon Youth Foundation, following two nominations for the honor. In 2017, she won the Peer Appreciation award at Eden Elementary.

As a seasoned speaker, Tammi enjoys educating others at state and regional conferences. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, traveling, organizing, decorating, reading, spending time with her husband and family, watching movies, and connecting with friends.

David Broadus is the Business Administrator for Indianapolis Counseling and Mentoring, bringing over two decades of experience as a Behavior Specialist who works closely with youth and adolescents ages 6–18. David’s natural rapport-building skills allow him to gain trust and respect from youth, helping them feel understood and supported. His career began in Indianapolis Public Schools as a Behavior Specialist and continued in Lawrence Township Schools as a Student Support Specialist, where he positively influenced the lives of students with challenging behaviors, helping them to improve academically, socially, and personally.

David’s background is rooted in a decade of honorable service with the United States Air Force, where he served in Saudi Arabia, Italy, South Korea, and various stateside assignments. After his military career, he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Marian University. This unique blend of military discipline and academic expertise has proven invaluable in his ability to connect with students from grades 1-12, providing them with the skills they need to succeed academically and grow as leaders among their peers.

David has received numerous accolades, including being named the 2020 Classified Employee of the Year in Lawrence Township. He is also an award-winning championship basketball coach, celebrated for his outstanding leadership and exceptional achievements in both education and coaching over his 28-year career.

David and Tammi have been married for 30 years and have two adult daughters, both of which are in the helping profession.
